Samui

Samui is a beatiful island on the coast of Thailand. It is a part of the Surat Thani province of the country. Koh Samui is the country's 3rd largest island with a population of estimated 50,000 people. The island is full of coral reefs, coconut trees and white sandy and long beaches. All the beauty of the Pacific you may be wondering about comes together in a single location. Although it is not certainly known where the name "Samui" originated from, it is possible that it derives its roots from the Chinese verb Saboey which practically means "safe heaven". The island is approximately about 25 kilometers in its widest point.

The island is circular in shape and the middle parts of the island is practically inhabitable due to trees and the mountain jungle. Seven sub-districts of the island include;

  1. Ang Thong
  2. Lipa Noi
  3. Taling Ngam
  4. Na Mueang
  5. Maret
  6. Bo Phut
  7. Mae Nam

If your travel plans include a visit to a tropic island be it for honeymoon or any other occasion, Koh Samui provides a lovely atmosphere, outstanding accommodation options and a safe environment. A visit to this island is always a memory to remember forever.
